Today, we have made it to Florida, and are in Tallahassee, the state Capitol. It has rained almost the entire day today, and Howard still hasn't asked us to play "The Thunderer"! First thing, upon arriving at the Capitol we received what has probably been the nicest State Proclamations from the Assistant Secretary of State for Florida.
This was followed by a tour of the State Capitol......
The Great Seal of the State of Florida......
The Florida State Senate Chambers.....
Here we see just how impressive the State Office Tower really is, we also had a great view of Tallahassee from the observatory at the top of the tower...
This is the view that Sylvia will always remember, a little bit steep from the angle.....
We also saw the Old Capital building which is now a museum of state history that has been restored to it's 1902 appearance.
Due to the weather and time constraints, we could only provide a short Dixieland performance at the base of the Capitol Tower, we started just after it had stopped raining and finished only minutes before it started back up again, this time we DIDN'T get wet!!!! Our next stop......
Barnacle Bill's Seafood Restaurant for a big seafood feast...
Ok, it's not too bright in there, but you get the idea, we pretty much filled up the place!
Ok, here's Dave again, he saw it was a seafood place, he saw food, and
he ate food! LOTS of Seafood!
....nobody knows where he's putting it all.....
This little guy was looking a little worried with Dave around, I know I saw a relieved smile on this little lion fish when we left :)
Tonight we are staying at Florida State University, and our next stop Winter Park, Florida!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's update!
