Crossroads of America Scout Band 1999 Tour
Day 7

 
Well, it's friday, and we kinda took a rest before the big event tomorrow.  This morning we went back to NASA to see the IMAX movie.  Then we came back, some folks went swimming in the ocean, some in the pool, and some just took time to rest.  We went to dinner at a place called Rusty's, were we had lots of seafood.  We also saw this.....

Pretty big cruise ship, nice pelican, but that ship it looks a bit familiar......

It just got closer, and closer, and more and more familiar......

Hmmmmm, recognise it yet, I don't know, but I'll be the pelican does......

Now do you recognise this boat?  I hope you do, if not look up on the smoke stacks, recognise those ears yet?

After dinner there was a band playing out in the parkinglot at Rusty's.  And look who's on base!

Everybody started Dancing......This was followed by several band members taking over the stage and calling themselves theSquegee Monkies.  I couldn't get any good pictures of this one, but several others did, and I'll be adding them sometime after the tour!  We headed back to the Hotel by way of Ron Jon's Surf Shop, which is kinda like the Wall Drug store from last year, open 24 hours a day to fill all your surfing/beach needs.

We also learned something interesting about the Hotel we are staying at today......take a look.

Yep, we are staying at the home of the Original 7 astronauts!

Not sure how many on the road updates we'll have, if I have time tomorrow, I'll do my best to upload something from the 30th Anniversary ceremonies, if not, I'll be adding more to the page over the next week, you will be notified whenever I do more upgrades.  We have pictures that were taken by Ed Herran, and Bill Schofield's brother Joe.  It's been a great week!
