Crossroads of America Scout Band 2001 Tour
Day 7

Today we started out at the Biltmore Estate, it was wonderful, we took the audio tour and had lunch at the restaurant and ended up with a tour of the winery.  Following that we set out for Camp Daniel Boone, Daniel Boone Council, BSA and had dinner at their new hall followed by a great concert.  Here's some pictures....

The view out the back porch at Biltmore.

Some of our crew (Carl, Trish, Jeannie, and Mike) at the front door (to ring the bell, you push the button inside the lion's mouth)

This gargoyle seems to be enjoying a bit of a read, maybe he's protecting the library.

We couldn't take any pictures inside the mansion, so here's the front, REALLY COOL!

Here's the shelter where we had lunch, one of the neatest shelters I've seen in a long time, the weather was perfect.

Some of the crew got a little silly at the winery.  Here's Lewis working on his first hernia!

Then it was down into the catacombs, where they keep all the wine.

It was cool, but a lot like walking through a dungeon.

This must be one of the Dungeon Masters  ;)

The walkway up to the Winery was a neat grape arbor.

Here's the new hall at Camp Daniel Boone

We DID NOT play The Thunderer :)  (and it still rained)

Chow Time!

I (Tom) even got my picture taken, and so did Sharon during the concert.

We've had a lot of fun with the Dixieland Band this tour, Howard has been playing the Bass, and starts out telling us to play two pieces, but for some reason, we always played a few more :)

As usual YMCA got played and there were plenty of people dancing......

These two guys were standing up on a fence on the other side of the field, we were told later that the band didn't look like we had a large crowd, but we were being heard all over the camp, and EVERYBODY was able to hear us!

It was a great concert!

I'm not sure what they were dancing to, but they had it well choreographed :)

I think Patrick had a lot to do with it!

More Tomorrow, stay tuned, same band time, same band channel!
