Over the years, the Scout Band has awarded special awards to the youth membership and adults. We are proud of those who have received these awards and will be listing them here in the very near future. Awards are usually given during the August picnic/awards/elections get together.
I also plan on putting downloadable nomination forms in .pdf format with each awards qualifications.
First off, there is the Good Scout award, given by the youth to an adult. The youth usually vote at some time towards the end of the annual tour.
Next is the prestigious Harvey U. Gill Award which is given to one deserving youth member each year.
And finally the F. O. Belzer award, named for the founder of the Scout Band and given to one deserving Adult Leader each year.
The Good Scout Award is presented as a trophy.
Both the Harvey U. Gill and the F.O. Belzer awards are plaques, a large plaque is kept on display at Camp Belzer and a smaller version is kept by the recipient.
I hope to have a list of those who have received the Gill and Belzer awards up here soon, and pictures of each as well.
