Today was a day for some rest, our only stop will be the Nation's
FIRST National Monument,
The Devil's Tower!
The only bad thing that happened this day, was when Dana got hit
in the eye,
and may have pushed Nancy down the mountain, but nobody's saying
exactly what happened!
After that we return to base and start our wash day!
(I'm not allowed to show our Chinese Washing Women in action, union
rules you know)
Here it is on our approach to the Tower, it's about all there is
to see on the horizon!
From the base near the Visitor center, very imposing, and if you
look carefully, you might even see
a few of the thousands of climbers who scale the Tower each year.
We got too get real close to nature for a little, this little Robin
had her nest
right at eye level at the Visitor's Center!
This shot is from the opposite side, and we did see a couple of
climbers from here.
This was only a mile or two away at the picnic area where we had
lunch.
Upon our return to base, we were met with the a quick hail storm
and then
and big thunder storm! It was all Howard's fault, everywhere
we've been
this week, he's had us play "The Thunderer" by John Philip Sousa!
Tomorrow-------Off to Iowa!
